
Apple Tree Preschool Program and Child Care is a family child care home
established in 1998.
State Licensed (#DG560277569) , Apple Tree is affiliated with Child Care Concepts and Saginaw Valley Regional 4c.
Child Care Concepts, a resource and referral program for Midland child care centers and homes, developed a level system to provide information on a child care provider's qualifications and experience. A level 1 indicates that the center/daycare home is currently licensed by the State of Michigan and follows all licensing rules. Levels 2, 3 and 4 indicate the provider has met the qualifications of the levels previous as well as additional criteria. Presently, the Apple Tree Preschool & Child Care Program is one of five providers out of over 200 licensed and registered programs in all of Midland to have attained and maintained a level 5 status!
A level 5 program is the highest level attainable and has met the following criteria:
1. Currently licensed
2. Attended Child Care Concepts new provider training
3. Had an 0n-site visit with Child Care Concepts staff
4. Current CPR and First Aid (CPR renewed yearly,First Aid-every two years)
5. Be Accredited through NAFCC, maintaining a minimum of thirty hours per year of professional development/child development workshops or conferences
6. Hold a Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Child Development or Elementary Education
The program has been ACCREDITED through the National Association of Family Child Care Providers since June of 2001.
"Ms. Rebecca" holds a Bachelor's degree in Child Development with an emphasis on Preschool Education. She has directed both small and large center-based child development programs (infants, toddlers, preschoolers, school-agers) from 1987 to 1998. She has taught preschool classes for more than ten years as well before opening Apple Tree Preschool Program in her home.
Rebecca frequently presents workshops and classes for Child Care Concepts and Saginaw Valley Regional 4c. Some of her favorite presentation topics include: Music and Movement for Young Children, Providing an Environment Conducive to Positive Behaviors, Art and Sensory Activities for Young Children, Child Development Basic Training for New Providers , Outside Activities for Children and Creating Parent-Friendly Policies for Your Child Care Program.
