I would like to nominate Rebecca Anlas, owner of Apple Tree Daycare in Midland, Michigan for the Governor's Quality Care Award. Over the past three years, Mrs. Anlas has provided daycare for my son in her home along with five other children.
Mrs. Anlas's program should be considered for this award for the following reasons. Apple Tree Daycare has surpassed many other daycare programs I have considered for my son. As a parent of a special needs child, it is critical that the provider be well educated and trained in dealing with many kinds of children. They must also possess the ability to interact well and guide children to be caring, self-reliant, strong individuals. This kind of provider is difficult to find. Mrs. Anlas has all of these qualities.
Rebecca Anlas is very dedicated to the education, socialization and cognitive development of the children in her care. She always goes above and beyond satisfactory standards of daycare. Mrs. Anlas provides a safe, interesting environment for my son to learn and grow. While along with providing preschool curriculum, Mrs. Anlas also involves the children in many activities such as field trips and special visitors from the community such as fire and rescue professionals and police officers. For these reasons, her daycare sets itself apart from many others.
Rebecca Anlas enhances the quality of life for my son in many ways. She quickly became attune to his special needs and abilities and makes him feel welcome and comfortable in her home. She truly loves each and every child in her care. "
